Been busy and not a lot changing
Unfortunately I have been rather busy of late what with training and everything, I would have posted about the strikes but was so fed up of the new coverage I just didn't bother.
Idiots Strike Again
It seems to be a constant thorn in my paw that people whinge about having to wait for an ambulance because "the ambulance station is two minutes away". Unfortunately the general public seems not to realise we are not water fairys and are not sat scratching waiting for you to ring us because you have "forgotten what day it is".
This article amuses me even more, there is an RRV but if it goes on a call then it isn't available for other calls. What in fucks name do they expect? Would they like to ring an ambulance and have the reply "well yes we have a car just around the corner but if we send it you there will be nothing left if another call comes in"
Was also surprised to learn recently a relative of a friend was gobsmacked to learn that student paramedics do placements in hospitals in operating theatres and emergency departments (amongst others). Does everybody think that the ambulance service are strecher monkeys?
Are the public so thick that they have this image of ambulances sat on station 24 hours a day waiting for that one and only call to come in to rush round immediately producing another ambulance from thin air and that we will then engage the afterburners to arrive at hospital in 1 minute flat?
If they are this thick (and I expect they are given the UK population voted Tory last time) then is it any wonder without education that they do not support ambulance staff striking?
